So Fast... So Slow

This week went by so fast. I ended up subbing in various classrooms all week. The first two days were with the VPK ESE littles, then I spent a day with K-1 ESE and then two more days with our VPK blended classroom. It was a whirlwind and before I knew it, it was Friday.
I don't know how to describe my week. I had a blast, I am so happy and exhausted. I have been praying daily and getting in the WORD. But also, at home there is a level of depression and anxiety that I have had trouble addressing. I haven't been eating well or getting myself moving. And while I did work on several blogs that are more long-term projects, I didn't start this one until just a few minutes ago. Maybe I am just better at Pantsing in these cases, but I want not just to use this as a sort of journal, but also to use this as a platform for sharing The Gospel.
I finally read The Hidden Flame by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke. It opened my eyes to a lot of things that we as Christians should be doing in our daily lives, in our growing and learning, and in our lives. I will absolutely be buying this book to use as a reference for life, but also for another blog post that I have started working on.

I'm still behind on my laundry. This week it was because my good friend who has been letting us use her washing machine was ill, and I wanted to let her rest. We managed to get one load done at my in-laws, but that hardly scratched the surface.
At home, I have been a bit depressed. I have been taking a lot of naps and not getting a lot of what needs to be done, done. I have been playing a lot of games on my phone. Dishes continued to pile up, as did trash. This weekend I finally started to make a change.

I gathered up four bags of trash yesterday and got them out of the house. Today we managed to get a load of laundry done, so I have socks tomorrow and my husband has pants. I went through several books that I borrowed last Sunday and figured out which ones were useful and which I needed to return today while I was in town. Then I watched a video from @samanthajo_ that she posted on Youtube last week and finally got the inspiration to tackle my dishes. Then I watched a video from @TheMinimalMom on how our stuff/clutter is hurting us, and I started purging things and putting them in my donate pile.

I am finally adulting and making a list of things that we need to buy for the house so that we can better budget what we need to spend outside of obvious bills like phones and car payments and electricity.
Tomorrow is a new day, a new week, and I am both excited and also hold some trepidation because as much as I love the extra money for subbing, I would very much like to get back to the work I was hired to do. I want to help these kids not just read well but gain a love for reading. I want to help them figure out critical thinking and notice details in things that they are reading.

I pray that your week is a blessing to someone else and that you are filled with the peace that surpasses understanding.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord show you his kindness and have mercy on you.
May the Lord watch over you and give you peace.”’
- Numbers 6:24-26
