Apologies in advance if this post seems all over the place. I started a couple topics to write about, but they're taking longer than planned to flesh out. Which means that something of substance that I started last week, might not be done for several weeks. So, we're just going to do the best that we can at this point.
I can tell you that I am very excited about the topics I am working on and hope to have at least one of them complete for next week.

Life update 1. One of my many bonus sisters has "Said Yes to the Dress". She gets married in September and it's very exciting. It does make me wonder how much the average bride spends on the dress alone. I personally had a vision that I knew I wouldn't find in the stores. I commissioned my mom to go fabric shopping with me and through my ideas and her sewing skills, my dress cost $100 and was custom made. I can't imagine spending much more on something you will only wear once.
I definitely did not have the traditional wedding. We had our engagement party at Painting with a Twist. My friend JT catered, making my favorite appetizer from Maggiano's Italian Restuarant. We had her family and a few friends from church attend. None of our blood family made it.
My bridal shower was held by my church ladies. Without them, we wouldn't have had one. I will forever be greatful for the inclusiveness I felt with those women. If nothing else, that church family makes me want to move back to Lakeland.
We did not have bachelor or bachelorette parties. We did not have a bridal brunch (which I wanted), we ended up having to cancel the venue due to car trouble. We had our wedding in a church friend's backyard, their son was kind enough to hold the phone playing the music as I walked down the aisle. There were no chairs. JT officiated. His aunt and my older sister were our photographers. And there was no reception, though I did try, my timing was off, as always.

Life update 2. My husband got to live one of his dreams this week. He got to perform at our local theater singing Frank Sinatra's "My Way". He had wanted to perform there since he was a child. It was an amazing night of talented members of our school district performing.
It reminded me that you shouldn't let go of your dreams or tell yourself not to try, because you never know what might happen.
